Representation Summary:

There needs to be a timescale for the planned joint pedestrian/cycle routes to be funded/built and in use. Currently it reads as aspirational.

There should be a greater emphasis on providing access to a clean/safe network of footpaths/ways across the town using and upgrading the present /existing network.

Good pedestrian access should also be a part of any design brief and considered in all planning applications.

Whilst generally supporting objectives 10 & 11, they both fail to mention the benefits of equestrianism and the provision of safe off road riding facilties. This could easily be achieved by considering equestrian use of some cycle/footpaths. Horse riding is an activity taken up by many people on a regular basis and is known to have a positive impact on physical and mental well being.

Whilst broadly supporting the Objective our organisation feel it could be largely improved upon by considering equestrian access for cyclepaths wherever safe to do so. Thus providing increased leisure & welfare benefits to residents, and better value to the taxpayer, whilst providing much needed safe off road horse riding. There are two large riding stables on the Hastings/St Leonards boundaries and these should be considered along with the 100s of horses in private use.

Representation Summary:

Support the identification and enhancement of the green network for multiple uses. It is important to enhance connectivity as well as land management for environmental as well as social and economic gains. Sites within the network should be protected, enhanced and buffered against conflicting activities and connections are necessary for wildlife and people.

A mechanism for delivery could include a policy to ensure improvements through planning gains.

Representation Summary:

The network of multifunctional greenspace and cycle and pedestrian routes would be more multifunctional by providing access for horse riders. This would increase the breadth of community involvement and provide a safe off road riding which would increase participation in this popular leisure pursuit.

There needs to be provision for low cost or funded holistic health care for those on benefits, with addictIons, health problems etc. Also a centre where locally produced whole foods (preferably organic) are provided at low cost to people in need. there could even be a scheme where people manage and grow produce on an allotment for their own use.

Whilst generally supporting objectives 10 & 11, they both FAIL to mention the benifits of equestrianism and the provision of safe off road riding facilities. This could easily be achieved by considering equestrian use of some cycle/footpaths. Horse riding is an activity taken up by many people, including adults and children both abled and disabled, and is known to have positive impact on physical and metal well being. Equestrians have just the same rights as cyclists when it comes to safety, the roads today are too overcrowded and unable to cope with horses. An equal opportunity to enjoy leisure time the same as any other activity is all we are asking
