The suitability of locating development in Hastings Town Centre will depend on the function of the proposal and the catchment it seeks to serve. Additional retail development needs to come forward throughout the hierarchy of centres to ensure their vitality and viability going forward. As such the provision of accessible retail facilities to serve local communities within or as part of an extension to existing district or local centres should also be encouraged.
