Representation Summary:
This approach fails to recognise the damage done to the town centre of the existing Priory Meadow development in terms of business failures in adjacent areas such as Queens Road, Trinity Triangle and White Rock.
This approach should instead focus on the regeneration of these existing retail areas - including the St Leonards District - by making them safe, pleasant, clean and accessible to visitors and residents alike, instead - as in the case of Queens Road - being 'no stopping' routes into the current town centre development.
No further retail development on out-of-centre sites should be considered.
