Development Management Plan Focused Consultation 6th July - 17th Aug 2012

Representation ID: 3699

Received: 06/08/2012

Representation Summary:

I object strongly to the consideration of the land 'Site N05' Land to the north west of Winchelsea Lane being developed.
This land is in an area of outsanding natural beauty and also currently lies outside the built up boundary of Hastings. The impact to this area would be considerable. Winchelsea Lane is narrow and it is already difficult to join the A259 from the junction with Churchill Avenue due to the traffic. With 36 houses and allowing for extra cars, the conjestion would be horrendous as well as the noise level on land being within an AONB protected zone.

I have been a resident in Winchelsea Lane for 21 years, although I am currently renting my house out on a short term let.
I object strongly to the consideration of the land 'Site N05' Land to the north west of Winchelsea Lane being developed.
This land is in an area of outsanding natural beauty and also currently lies outside the built up boundary of Hastings. The impact to this area would be considerable. Winchelsea Lane is narrow and it is already difficult to get onto the main A259 from the junction with Churchill Avenue due to the amount of traffic. With the suggested 36 houses and allowing 2 cars per property, the conjestion would be horrendous as well as the noise level on land being within an AONB protected zone. The Local Authorities should protect this High Weald area and not allow housing to be built on this land for private profit rather than as a genuine need.
