Representation Summary:

My vision for Crystal Square is to compulsory purchase the entire block and using the slope of the land provide 2 or 3 levels of parking, retail and community spaces, (incorporating the Isobel Blackman Centre). This would provide adequate space for a major retail company and smaller shops as well as community spaces on ground and upper levels. The idea of "punching through" from London Road to provide access is unnecessary if the scheme is comprehensive as I suggest, since access through South Street would be maintained. Deliveries could be made through the rear of the development in Western Road. If possible some characteristic warehousing could be retained and integrated into the design.
