Representation Summary:

We agree with para 14.4 that the seafront is not right for office use as it will compete for parking with vistors/shoppers and create lack of footfall during evenings and weekends - and object strongly to the Pelham Place proposal (8.14 & 10.4). As this is scheduled for development towards the end of the plan period, it will blight homes and businesses in the surrounding area for 10-20 years. We specifically object to any reference to the Seafront Strategy (p79), which shows comprehensive redevelopment of Castle Court and other viable quality buildings in the Conservation Area. We feel there has been a lack of transparency and accessibility regarding this proposal and that it has been presented in a way which conflicts with paras 4.5 to 4.7; and 4.20 of PPS12 (4 June 2008).
