Representation Summary:
We do not agree that the overall strategy for a seaside town with 180 deg catchment should include becoming a major retail centre but should instead aim to develop a more diverse economy based on quality of life, sustainability, seaside, heritage, culture, tourism and leisure - as set out in the Vision for Hastings statement. We think the present retail policies could cause too much competition for existing businesses.
