Representation Summary:
The Company would emphasise the need to ensure an integrated & comprehensive approach to the whole coastal zone within the Borough, incorporating an appropriate balance between protection of the coast & the use of the coast & shoreline for public amenity, recreation, tourism, business, transportation & nature conservation purposes. In particular, it will be important that the Hastings Core Strategy & the joint Hastings/Bexhill Seafront Strategy encourage the enhancement & extension of existing tourism uses, including accommodation, particularly where their existing location & their character require a coastal location.
