With reference to relevant issues, paragraph 14.3; Bourne Leisure supports this approach, but would also emphasise the requirement for continual consultation with landowners & operators & the need for policies within the Core Strategy to allow for existing & enhanced coastal developments to be protected by new defences &/or improved existing defences, even where defences needed do not form part of the Shoreline Managment Plan. Policies should also ensure that exsiting tourism coastal business operators & landowners are able to fund apporpriate coastal defence work, & that, if necessary, improvements within current site boundaries or expansion onto adjoining, unaffected land is allowed, if land is likely to be affected by coastal erosion or flooding.
