i oppose the devolopements of speckled woods because,children teenagers and adults like to walk,play and have fun in these woods.if it was destroyed it would mean that one of the only green areas in the comunity would be gone forever,not to mention the wildlife that would be killed and maybe even rare plant species that would be destroyed.

Having lived here for 5 years, I think the green area should stay green for local people owing to the fact that during the last 5 years we have been aware of many many people using the area. Children visiting us always love to go into the woods to play, a joy all children should have. The local infrastructural is already at capacity. There is also many areas of Hastings with demolished and derelict buildings that need to be developed 1st. (of course there is not so much profit in that) I think Speckledwood is one one of the last places in Ore village that the residents could make there own for future generations

It is quite nice to have some green space in this unfashionable part of the borough. If the council want to sell this land off they should at least use some of the money raised to improve the pavements, calm the traffic and provide amenities for local people.

Although I do not currently lie in Hastings as I am serving with the RAF I am very concerned about how the planned development of Speckled Wood in Ore village will devastate this small but beautiful area of the town. Not only would it be a loss to the local area but I am concerned how the development of this enclosed area within Ore village will affect the local area with added traffic (for a long time a major issue in Ore, especially since the new town routing plan) and the increases in the population of this area which has little scope to support it.

This is a rare and valuable source of green space for all generations within this community, and would be greatly missed if it were to be even reduced a little. There is nowhere else like it within walking distance for all of us. This woodland needs to be fully protected for all users, including habitat, to continue to be used in future.

Having lived in Speckled Wood for over 8 years, the woods have been greatly enjoyed and area valuable green space.

Speckled Wood is one of the last wooded valleys in the borough. Ore Valley has lost approx 75% of its local greenspace since 1817 (see OCLT lost Greenspace Plan)

The local community and Ore Community Land Trust are currently developing a Greenspace Community plan to protect and enhance Speckled wood as protected local greenspace linked to the lower Ore Valley. Housing conflicts with Greenpace.
