I am not a Hastings resident but I am adding my name to the petition to keep Speckled Wood as it is. We are stripping far too many woodlands in the UK- every Urban area needs a natural area and it is easily seen how much development of this woodland will ruin the ambience of the area for the local people.

Speckled Wood should serves as a very important green space for the community surrounding it and also provides a habitat for insects and plants. As it is there is a high density of housing in Hastings and any further erosion of our precious green space will be detrimental to wildlife and people.

I would like to see a fourth option for no development of the Speckled Wood site. Why is the Ore Valley site, which was already cleared for development and which is now laying empty not considered a better option for for development that a natural area that is very important for wildlife?
