- Policy E3: Primary Shopping Areas: Sets out expectations for development in shopping areas, supporting a mix of uses that will encourage people to shop locally.
- Policy E4: Food, Drink, Entertainment and the Night-time Economy: Sets out expectations for cafes, restaurants, take-away shops, pubs and nightclubs; including strict requirements concerning the use of delivery vehicles and safety.
- Policy E5: The Visitor Economy: Sets out expectations for new and improved visitor attractions, hotels and other visitor accommodation. Sets out a position on short-term holiday lets.
- Policy E6: Outdoor Visitor Accommodation: Sets out expectations for new and improved outdoor visitor accommodation, including touring fields, camping and caravan parks.
Where will new workspaces, shops and visitor attractions be delivered?
Site Allocations (Part 6 of the Plan) starting with ES are sites where workspaces can be delivered. Regeneration Areas (Part 5 of the Plan) include areas of the town that may be able to deliver homes during the plan period if certain conditions are met.
New shops, offices, places to eat and other places to socialise are expected to be delivered in Town, District and Local Centres (Part 4 of the Plan - Policy SP4). Visitor attractions and accommodation are expected to be delivered in the Resort Area (Part 7 of the Plan - Policy E5).
