Tourism is presently a major income stream for the town and therefore for much of the local economy and SME business community. The long-term success of the tourism economy will be a key part of delivering the over-all regeneration of the town. The specific marketing of St Leonards and its seafront as a destination would help to underpin the regeneration of this area and be in keeping with the original reason this resort town was built by the Burton family.
