We are concerned that given that Silverhill was previously defined as a district centre in the Local Plan, the former definition and the description of the characteristics of a district centre as set out in the emerging Core Strategy could be used to justify development of an inappropriate scale in the future.Indeed Silverhill has many of the facilities that are listed under the description of a district centre. For example, it has a supermarket, a bank, and food and drink uses. There are also a number of financial and professional services in the vicinity. It is important, therefore, to provide further justification in the Core Strategy for the definition of each tier of centre
