Development Management Plan Focused Consultation 6th July - 17th Aug 2012

Representation ID: 3631

Received: 30/07/2012

Representation Summary:

The Independent Forestry Panel recently published their recommendations to Government. A huge emphasis was placed on the importance of protecting trees and woodlands within/adjacent to populated areas. A woodland is not 'wasteland', there to be destroyed for short term/un-sustainable financial gain. A woodland is a place with infinite benefits to the local community, boosting the triple bottom line; economy, environment, people. The botom line is... listen to your community, protect what little wodded area you have left, it can not be replaced. The loss of benefits can not be mitigaterd against.

I oppose the development of the Speckled Wood Area.

The Independent Forestry Panel recently published their recommendations to Government. A huge emphasis was placed on the importance of protecting trees and woodlands within/adjacent to populated areas. A woodland is not 'wasteland', there to be destroyed for short term/un-sustainable financial gain. A woodland is a place with infinite benefits to the local community, boosting significantly the triple bottom line; economy, environment, people. Government recognises that now, please see the report soon to be published by the Natural Capital Commitee. The botom line is... listen to your community, protect what little wodded area you have left, it can not be replaced. The loss of benefits can not be mitigaterd against.

I oppose the development of the Speckled Wood Area. Please register my opinion and respond via my email address.
