A Village of fine Victorian Houses and Buildings many s t i l l show walls of local Sand stone quarried in the Archery Road Sand stone Quarry. More recently the site of Archery competitions, one of the first sports to be recognised in which Ladies of the district were able to compete on equal terms for the first time in history with Gentlemen and enjoy quiet recreation. Servants also enjoyed areas/gardens where they could have walks in the fresh air (Gensing Gardens being one area). There are collections of valuable trophies from the Archery Grounds in the Museum.
