Representation Summary:
Maplehurst Wood SSSI-was in an unfavourable condition at the last review.
The unfavourable condition of the SSSI appears to relate to the recreational disturbance.
The development of a significant number of homes some 200m from the SSSI presents the risk of further detrimental impact
I understand that a number of partners are working with the private owner of the wood to improve management of the site and overcome the issues for the SSSI. Funding for mitigation work arising from local development may be appropriate.
The site may also be sensitive to air quality and water issues
