The section of The Ridge adjoining the site is a busy and dangerous stretch of road and a sharp bend of the proposed site. Permitting an additional vehicular turning can be expected to increase the danger and to add to congestion. Given the position of the Sandrock site between St Helen's Wood & the edge of the AONB, with undeveloped areas in between the two, the ecology is sensitive and needs carefull investigation & protection. The area sees ikequent activity of bats, badgers & other wildlife and their survival on the site could be at risk.
