Objective 1 - Sustainable Transport

Ensure modal choice and encourage modal shift to more sustainable transport patterns. Work at a local, county and national level to secure improvements in strategic transport infrastructure. Critical success factors:
* green travel plans required from all new businesses
* all development schemes to identify and promote sustainable transport modes
* housing schemes to link to existing transport infrastructure and bus routes
* Bexhill/Hastings and Baldslow link roads to be open by 2011
* establish a strategic network of cycle and pedestrian routes
* expand the national cycleway route along the seafront
* improved lighting and surfaces to all twittens throughout the town by 2011
* repair pavements in commercial areas and all twittens by 2009
