SMPCT supports the flexibility within this policy, which enables the creation of mixed communities, an objective of paragraph 24 of PPS3. This is important as it recognises both economic and social issues associated with the provision of certain types of affordable housing and supports the SMPCTs view that financial viability assessments should be used to justify the level of affordable housing provision.
