From the perspective of the Old Town the Shaping Hastings documents are very disappointing. Only a few sentences refer to the unique needs of the Old Town. Little reference is made for instance to the need to enhance the infrastructure of things like power supplies and sewer systems - all of which are past their design life and frequently fails becasue of low capacity and inadequate maintenance. Most detail in the documents is given for some exciting proposals elsewhere in Hastings.
