All the caravan sites cater for completely different types of cliental and their special needs. I do not think any of the Council teams are knowledgeable enough to dictate in any way forward as each site is quite different in about every respect.

Page 105 ref. 114 - I have copies of the map and detailed book for the local nature reserves 2004 Plan. We all need complete documentation for EN2 and EN3. The fudged map with its round circles dotted about is no help and is possibly not an acceptable legal interpretation.

Local Plan 2004 pages 119,120,122,124. Fine words "improvement of biodiversity" enhancement of landscape!. I live with smells, dust clouds, filth left by lorries visiting the tip on Bexhill Road , the drivers are no longer required to wash their wheels and tyres. The tip is a carbuncle on what was a fine landscape. The University of Brighton air pollution surveys show the situation is unacceptable. the height of the tip area was to have been no higher than 45m but is in fact 85m high and Biffa are still spreading materials over areas that were in practice finished in 2005.

The new Develpment Plan in the glossary states in the last line 'provides site allocations for residential and employment development up to 2028'. To date mandatory obligations missing from planning applications and the face that developers ecologists only work round the central issues of wildlife consevation with misinformation and ploys with one idea in mind money. The New Borough Plan should allow an independent surveyor to check all future development sites. The serious situation across the borough at this time needs urgent correction.

The new plan only deals with items within the Borough boundary. The study of the neglect of ancient/preserved woodland and the present position of TPOs will surprise the planning team. The wonderful mosaic pattern of sustainable woodland seen on the woodland rides for quiet recreational pursuits needs urgent restoration and cataloguing. We are fast losing many species of wildlife because of the continuing neglect and destruction of close meadow habitats. At 131 this also refers to 1 of 2 criteria. How will the Development Plan agree this as it refers to land owned by the Council outside the Borough boundaries?

Local Plan 2004 page 140 - Noisy activities (disturbance and interference) these words and what they mean go deeper than what is written in SC1. Everyday noises we all get used to. The arrival of pneumatic drills without their silencing sleeves, JCBs and the sudden destruction of all flora, scrubs, mature trees, the entire existing habitat for wildlife extinguished 'starvation by eradication'. If a planning application is refused, the applicant is required by law to reinstate the site, but in Hastings Planning dept a blind eye is used.

Local Plan 2004 page 151 - development on unstable land. Situations are contrived by developers geologists in similar ways to developers ecologists. There are a number of examples across the Borough.

Local Plan 2004 page 176. The historic environment: this instantly brings to mind the ancient public footpath that follows north from the original coaching bridge across the Haven river on the viaduct built by the Romans. The pathway dates back to pre-Roman times it leads up the eastside of Monkham Woods triple S.I. site incorporating further up north an important wildlife corridor. Why is Hastings Council insisting on the closure of this very interesting historic monument?

2004 Plan, page 195. Amenity footpath network, please also refer to item 176. Most of the public footpaths have been in constant use for centuries. We now understand that the County Council are now responsible for maintaining public rights of way and expect improvements.
