Whilst generally supporting objectives 10 & 11, they both FAIL to mention the benefits of equestrianism and the provision of safe off road riding facilities. This could easily be achieved by considering equestrian use of some cycle/footpaths. Horse riding is an activity taken up by many people, including adults and children both able and disabled, and is known to have positive impact on physical and metal well being. Equestrians have just the same rights as cyclists when it comes to safety, the roads today are too overcrowded and unable to cope with horses. An equal opportunity to enjoy leisure time the same as any other activity is all we are asking

In spite of the wording of objective 10 there is no mention of 'cultural activities' anywhere in the document - although venues for sports & leisure (recreation) activities have a section & policy (42) cultural activities have nothing.

I support this objective to expand the National Cycleway along the Seafront. Ensure taht shared pedestrian/cycle zones are created in several key areas ie. town cetnre & Alexandra Park.

objective fails to mention the benefit of the different forms of riding & the development of safe off-road riding. Riding is an absorbing hobby for young people, helping to reduce obesity & even teenage pregnancy! the increasing road congestion makes it imperative to provide off-road riding facilities.

More honesty is needed about where and how much space; and there needs to be land use allocations in support of Objective 10 - for sports, leisure, youth, cultural, community activities not just those in support of planned Seaspace developments.

Build on the town's cultural assets with year-round festivals, performances, installations and exhibitions and create good outdoor public space as well as indoor venues to support an increase in the range and quantum of cultural activity and events - and to attract more visitors. Critical success factors are:
*creation of high quality civic square or major public space for big national and international events
*make St Mary in the Castle available to all for all cultural activity - especially in support of community arts
*ensure cultural and creative businesses have access to business support
*make space available for the development of cultural and creative business activity - Britannia Enterprises
*increase quality and quality of niche tourism accommodation and facilities
