I am relieved and reassured to read that many fears expressed by local residents with regard to a large scale development on the Convent Site
have been addressed. The recognition of the site as 'a valuable historic asset' and the guidelines for consideration in future planning permission
are encouraging.

My hope is that planning permission will not be granted for development within the curtilage of the Former Convent of the Holy Child Jesus
unless:
1) It is for enabling development that is in accordance with national guidance
2) The Italianate East Wing is preserved.
