I support the proposal to construct the network of cycle paths as shown in the Local Plan Policies Map. However I would ask that they are in fact walking and cycling routes and identified as shared use routes. The urban footway/road system in Hastings is difficult for walkers and cyclists and does not encourage not motorised means of getting around - a network of waling/cycling routes would help to connect communities and encourage people to walk/cycle to get around town and increase activity levels.
I also support Policy T3 in the Local Plan [Planning Strategy] and other measures to improve sustainable transport.

The routes proposed need to be shared between walkers and cyclists to maximise the benefit to the communities through which they pass so as to provide a pleasant and safe means of getting around the town and of helping people increase their activity levels; having access to open space and open countryside.
