I support, as HUB Campaign Co-ordinator, the proposal to construct the network of cycle routes as shown in the Local Plan Policies Map, as the urban road system in Hastings is exceptionally difficult and dangerous for cyclists. The cycleway network would also enhance walking routes and encourage more sustainable travel by bike or on foot. It would reduce the risk of accidents, benefit the environment and the economy, and provide a safe, direct and low-cost travel otpion for people on low means as it would connect many deprived areas to the Town Centre and to educational establishments, and the district hospital. It would improve health and fitness and also benefit people with disabilities.
