We feel that to demand such a ratio (one per dwelling) would be contrary to PPG13 in which para 52 states: "there should be no minimum standards for development other than parking for disabled people".The core strategy regrettably seeks to solve the problems of on-street parking by introducing such a policy. Para51 also states that:" in developing and implementing policies on parking, Local Authorities should not require developers to provide more spaces than they themselves wish". We request that the council should adopt an SPD on car parking and includes a policy in the core strategy that indicates this is the case.
