Development Management Plan Consultation Document 3rd February - 27th April 2012

Representation ID: 3493

Received: 12/04/2012

Representation Summary:

At Hawthorn Road
The Parcel of Land the eastern side of Hawthorn Road is the most unstable land in the South of England Almost solid Fairlight Clay down to the Purbeck bedrock with many underground spring lines leading out of the Sandstone Buttresses east of the site. The Sandstone Buttress Escarpment area is the home of some very rare protected Species of wildlife. The western perimeter of the Site is the home of large populations of Slowworms. There was a very active Social Group of Badgers resident on this parcel of land.

1. The Council has received very recently an illegally presented Planning Application and processed it as normal (NO WILDLIFE/ECOLOGICAL SURVEY) A legal Requirement. The Position of the new house is at the Southern end of the Parcel of land

2. Next door, 10 Houses built on footings that have never received any Planning Approval. Built 4 stories high depriving Neighbours of their Human rights to privacy in their garden areas.

3. The Badgers that lived in several setts (six) originally have been excluded from sett after sett until we can see only one large Sett mainly based in the Escarpment. The Owners even moved the fence lines in order that they could apply to exclude badgers. The Whole Campaign of wildlife eradication was most irregular and very cruel. NO correct approach to Native Reptile welfare. No thought for the future welfare of the very rare colonies of Mining Bees. NO thought for safe access to the remaining badger setts; foraging and fresh water supplies where are they?

4. Park Lane and Hastings Borough Council are failing in their respective legal duties.

5. There are a number of Witnesses who can be contacted.
