I oppose any housing development in the Speckled Wood area. I wish to see the Development Management Plan changed.
I support a fourth option of no development. In a heavily populated area we need to keep green spaces such as the Speckled Wood. It is held very dear by a great number of people and used by dog walkers and families on a daily basis. If this offshore company wishes to invest in our town let them buy up dilapidated but existing buildings at a good price, but please protect this diverse natural space from money makers. Sense over greed.

As time passes, Hastings' natural resources that already enhance the lives of so many local residents must lend greater value to the area than housing will. There are other ways to meet the burden of housing needs and as society evolves there are more people willing to support those alternatives. Should find a way to stop all development in Speckled Wood. Hear hear for Plan D.

Object as area full of wildlife. Children play in the woods, they are a free resource that can teach about nature and entertain especially in a time of financial difficulty. Enables good exercise; removing areas that children can play outdoors will contribute to an un healthy society. Also helps good mental health. Loss of trees reduces quality of the air. I believe there should be the option of no development because it is an area full of wildlife. There are very few places you can go in the town of Hastings to hear the birds singing and observe wildlife. It is a fantastic area for learning about wildlife which local schools can use. Many children are children in Speckled Woods enjoy running through the woods playing games. As a child I remember going for walks with my family through the woods having great fun being in the outdoors. Now most places have all been developed on. I fear children growing up in our town will be brought up in a concrete town with little wildlife. The woods are a wonderful resource that is completely free that families and schools can use to teach about nature and families to entertain their children especially in a time of financial difficulty. Being outdoors is good exercise in a current society that is overweight, removing areas that children can play outdoors will contribute to an un healthy society. Also spending time outside is excellent to promote good mental health as it is extremely relaxing watching and listening to nature. The trees produce oxygen, if they are cut down it is reducing the quality of the air that we breathe. The wood is used by many people daily to walk their dogs, local cats in the neighbourhood enjoy playing too. If we lose what so many people love about Hastings we may suffer with lower tourism numbers. Please do not allow the development Speckled Wood it would be an awful decision to develop. I would like to attend the examination please.

A development in this area would also increase traffic on already badly-maintained roads. Speckled Wood is called a wood for a reason, and should stay that way.
