There should be a fourth option of no development. This is my home and have special memories here, not to mention the wildlife and lack of greenery in Hastings. Speckled woods should remain as it is, my cat explores this area also. It would be a great shame to see it covered with concrete and houses. It is unnecessary and the planet will not survive if every tree is chopped down, there is a great need for nature.

There is no need for even more housing in this already crowded residential area - traffic congestion is heavy now and with addition of "link road" will be even worse without this development. We need this green space for both children and wildlife!

The concern over present and future air pollution levels needs to be highlighted. Scientific tests have proved that open, green spaces with trees help decrease pollution levels. Other area in Hastings could be investigated for development. The Observer building in the town centre has been derelict for 30+ years. The capacity for houses/flats there should be progressed. It would also mean level of car journeys for residents could be minimised. Speckled Wood for Ore is equivalent of Alexandra Park for Hastings!

Concerns re: subsidence of established properties due to steepness and fact that area is 'wet woodland', if excavation for development is allowed. The area is also used by local childrens' groups (incl schools) as a learning activity. Due to over development of the area which some councillors seem to rubber stamp automatically and increased traffic in area are the planning committee planning on adding increase our pollution to their portfolio.
