We have already seen the damage removing precious woodland with all the recent floods in other areas, do we want this happening here? This wood is an important as the stream feed into Alexandra Park are you really going to remove all our woodland and replace it with housing when I can see plenty of areas around Hastings just as suitable without destroying yet more woodland. Please say no to this housing development.

Any development on this site will increase traffic on roads around the site and lead to congestion on roads that already busy-the Old London Road. Frederick Road is quite narrow to take anymore traffic and The Ridge will soon have more as a consequence of the completed Link Road. This green space is surrounded by houses and is a valuable asset for everyone there to enjoy especially for the children who can use it as an area to play and learn.

I fully support the Friends of Speckled Wood that there should be no development at all of that area. It is so important to the health and welfare of local residents that areas of green space are retained and indigenous flora/fauna are left undisturbed. Other landowners were not consulted, the Government believes in Localism, the choice should be with the local people. Therefore there should be a fourth option offered in the consultation process to that effect-no development of Speckled Wood.

They are important, especially in built-up areas, as havens for people/wildlife and to combat pollution and help reduce the risk of flooding. We really must protect the last remaining fragments of woodland not just for our beleaguered wildlife but for ourselves and our future generations. There should be no development of this locally important wood. This development is not needed at this particular location. We need our breathing spaces, trees and wildlife more than you might realise, for physical and psychological health. We mustn't take up every possible square centimetre of land just so some wealthy developer can stash even more in their offshore bank at the expense of our quality of life, our biodiversity and our heritage. No development there please. Listen to the voices of the local people not the greedy developer.

This is not an ideal plot of land to build on and should be left as a natural occurring woodland for people and wildlife to continue to enjoy and thrive in.
