The planning permission was given during the meeting it was said that the stone would be shipped to Canada and the house rebuilt exactly the same. It was sent to a reclaimation yard for a profit. Who profited is unclear. There was no need to demolish the structurally sound building. What we lost was a historic valuable and beautiful building. What we have now is as many units as possible crammed into the space where it once existed.
