Replace with: "The Hastings Spur Road Phase 2 scheme which involves the improvement and realignment, in part, of Gillsman Hill between Harley Shute Road/Crowhurst Road/Ironlatch Ave/Gillshan Hill roundabout and Gillsman Hill/The Green/Sedlescombe Road South junction. The scheme was designed to deal with traffic expected to be generated by the Bexhill and Hastings Bypass scheme. Although the bypass scheme was cancelled in 2001. the government at the time asked the County Council to bring forward the Bexhil and Hastings Link Road. Consequently, the Hastings Spur Road Phase 2 was retained as a required scheme - continued in paper rep.
