If the Hastings to Bexhill Link Road does not go ahead will the proposed housing development in the Filsham Valley be cancelled and the overall total for new homes be reduced?

Apart from possibly improving Bexhill Road i'm not convinced that the Bexhill link road by iteself will do anything other than open up large areas in Rother for housing. Without the link to Rye and the Brenzett - Ashford link, its benefit is largely local.

The following information should be included: The Department for Transport (DfT) has indicated that there is in the region of £650 million available for Development Pool schemes, the likely requests for DfT funds exceed the available funding by a ratio of around 1.5 to 1.

6.56-6.58 - The link road with Bexhill will make no difference to the town in bringing business into the town or ease the congestion.
