We have to object because we really cannot understand where all these houses are coming from and being built at.

There seems to be a reluctance to see any part of south St Leonards have a low density (26ph, compare with the allocations for Little Ridge and Ashdown at 25ph, and St Helens Woods at 29ph). Even the lower target is much too high. This level of housing also includes building on the South Saxons valley, which the 2004 plan admits needs considerable mitigation measures against flooding, and the shoreline from Seaside Road westwards. Both areas are also at risk from projected higher sea levels and increasingly strong winter storms; not a very sustainable option.
