Gypsy and Traveller sites should remain a rural commodity and not be brought into urban and residential areas on any account as it causes unrest in the community and holds house values down within the immediate area. Recent protests on The Ridge prove this.

Note that: a) the Borough Council should determine whether any requirement on it in the South East Plan is appropriate, and b) the provison of a transit site will also be considered in dialogue wth Wealden and Eastbourne Councils.
