The PFARA consider the DM Plan unsound, and object to development on this site, at least until the traffic impact of the BHLR is better understood.
The committee of PFARA consider the soundness of the Development Management Plan to be in error as events have overtaken the designation of this "land adjacent to Sandrock Park" as housing land. Since the 2012 Consultation was compiled, the Link Road has been approved and financed and is now ready to be built. This will have a huge impact on the Ridge, for which official, conservative, estimates already exist and which is already seriously overburdened and adversely affecting the quality of life for residents on the Ridge and its immediate environs. Therefore PFARA wants a stop to this site being designated for housing or any other development until the Link Road has been in use for long enough for a true assessment to be made of its impact on the Ridge. To achieve such a valid assessment we ask that this site be removed from the Town Plan for the foreseeable future.
