Representation Summary:

This is weak and should better reflect the importance of community facilities. Existing facilities should be safeguarded and there should be a target for the % homes which are within say 400m of community facilities. New developments could then be required to contribute to community facilities where there are poor or non-existant.

Developers should contribute to the maintenance of community centres and facilities wherever possible. It is important that full council tax relief continues to be given to community centres to enable them to continue to deliver services to their local communities.

Representation Summary:

Central St Leonards needs a community centre large enough to accommodate a significant cross-community gathering. Small halls are used by specific groups, whether faith or culture related, or other special interest, but there is nowhere for residents to meet in all their diversity. There is no sign in this doucment that you think we need one (unlike the Old Town, the Town Centre, Ore village or Hollington).

There should be greater provision within the town centre for community services - and better publicity for those currently available.

Good for the Town and Old Town what about all the other areas in the town.
