What do we want to do?
Good design captures so many considerations. It is not limited to the size of windows or the colour of front doors, it includes everything from how the building looks through to addressing climate change and flood risk. We want development to give us well-designed and maintained places and spaces in which people can enjoy living, working and spending time. We want to be clear about what a healthy, well-balanced community looks and feels like.
How will we do this?
- Strategic Policy 2 (SP2): New and Affordable Housing: Sets out how much new housing should be delivered over the plan period, and who it should be for.
- Strategic Policy 3 (SP3): Business Development – Office and Industrial: Sets out how much workspace should be delivered over the plan period and where this should happen.
- Strategic Policy 4 (SP4): Business Development – Town Centres: Establishes a hierarchy for our town centres, directs the type of uses appropriate to these locations, and deals with how we would determine proposals for new town centre uses.
- Strategic Policy 5 (SP5): Meeting the Challenge of Climate Change: Sets out how development should be delivered with climate emergency in mind.
