This important biodiverse site should never have been included as a site for any development. It is far too important especially as it is recognised nationally that many species of flora and fauna are becoming threatened with extinction. It is time for this council to admit this gross error and remove this site from the development plan.Any development on this site contravenes all the Policies applied to ancient woodland and green spaces and biodiversity. These Policies now appear meaningless and are merely there to appease. This site is a much valued amenity space for residents and their families.

The Policies as outlined in this Revised Submission portray a scenario which promises full protection to ancient woodland, local nature reserves and wildlife. However,to propose any development on this site contravenes all these Policies. It is irresponsible and unacceptable that this grassland habitat is destined for development. These ancient woodlands and Local Nature Reserve plus the site of Robsack 'A' are listed as Hollington's most important asset and natural habitat and home to numerous important species of wildlife and flora.Local residents have enjoyed the amenity of this site for decades and should be able top continue to do so.

Once the nature reserve is scoured bare and all that is left is damaged trees, bare earth, dead wildlife and litter, will the council then argue that the Reserve is not providing a benefit and allow development of this area as well? The destruction of Ancient Woodland and important species and flora and the destruction of the grassland habitat which constitutes Robsack 'meadow' represents a huge loss just to provide 32 flats. These actions will sever the natural corridor between the two woodlands - the widlife will find it harder to forage between the two woodlands. The decline of now ISOLATED Robsack wood is guaranteed.
We are bitterly disappointed and disgusted to learn that the council is considering allowing the development of Robsack 'meadow'.The land is in-between the Churchwood local nature reserve and virtually untouched Robsack Wood. Both of which are habitats for important wildlife hence the status of a local nature reserve being granted.Construction of any properties on the border of both these vitally important protected areas would compromise the benefit of this nature reserve and Ancient Woodland. The area would slowly degrade into the familiar urban tatty woodland that borders the development of the Tesco store and the top of Churchwood.

I object the urbanizing of this area because it helps to prevent more serious flooding further down
In view that is now evident that climate change is happening I object to the loss of this green area because it is important as area where excess water from strong rains (as seen in the period from October 2013 to February 2014)can be collected and prevent urban areas from being flooded
And because bio diversity that has been established can not be replaced by new planting. Habitats take a very long time to develop and planting few trees here and there will not balance the loss of carbon absorption
These plans were drafted prior to the recognition of the government that Climate Change is happening and that more needs to be done to prevent flooding in urban areas further down by preserving areas that are actually doing that. There was quite a bit of flooding in Combe Heaven and Bulverythe this winter, that will only get worse if areas like this get urbanized
Yours sincerely

This beautiful ancient woodland should never have been included as a site for any development. It is an extremely important area of land renoun for many species of flora and fauna that are already threatened. The council should remove this site from the development plan at once. Any development on this site contravenes all the Policies applied to ancient woodland and green spaces and biodiversity. This woodland site is a much valued amenity space for residents and their families.

The site deserves much better treatment than what HBC proposes. Government policy has moved back to an appreciation of garden cities. Hastings & St Leonards is one, but under relentless attack by its infilling Council.
Whose 'proportionate financial contribution to the management of the adjacent Local Nature Reserve' is referred to here.

This area is an ancient woodland and should be protected, as it is. The housing development will affect the wildlife and the other species and a natural corridor and canopy will be lost, where the road will be built.
Green spaces are vital to our health and wellbeing and should really be able to exist in their own right. There are other places to build.
