1. The Convent and its grounds are the major element of the Conservation Area (Local Plan 2004)

I feel that the area known as Speckled Wood should not just be designated a Green Space but named a Local Nature Reserve as it was supposed to be agreed by the November Hastings Cabinet 2012. It is vitally important that green passages are retained to provide habitat linking the larger green areas surrounding Hastings. I feel that the area known locally as Speckled Wood should not just be designated a Green Space but named a Local Nature Reserve as it was supposed to be agreed by the November Hastings Cabinet 2012. I do feel however in my opinion that the woodland should be reconsidered as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
I can quite honestly state that my opinion in this matter does not waiver and I believe this has been demonstrated time and time again in multiple communication with your department. Clearly I believe it is the time for this matter to be concluded in favour of retaining this woodland.
