The objection is not to the policy (or the sentiment) but to the application of it. At 1 & 3 Chapel Park Road, at Undercliff, at Hawthorn Road, Market Passage, Barley Lane and elsewhere, the cavalier approach of HBC members and officers put at risk the wellbeing of local residents.

The NPPF 120 and 121. To prevent unacceptable risk from pollution and land instability planning policies should ensure that new development is appropriate for its location. Hastings has many steeply sloping sites or in areas of land instability. This means the Council should not accept doubtful sites and must act accordingly. These sites should not be validated & registered. This applies to pollution and land instability. This information should be given before planning permission given.
