Hastings has little over half the required amount of open space. The need to safeguard existing playing fields & pitches. Childrens play areas are not being provided or existing ones protected.

The new Local Plan is being prepared contrary to our requirements. Areas deficient in open space. 'Significant portions of the town that are beyond the minimum straight line distance of 280 metres from accessible open space - English Nature.

In the Local Plan 2004 there are 149 Policies. In the Proposed Local Plan there are 59 Policies.

There is no replacement policy for undergrounding overhead power lines. The National Planning Policy Framework is to take precedence over our new Local Plan. All HBC policies should comply with the NPPF. Two bedroom or more flats to have private external space of at least 10m.
