Within Focus Areas 1, 2 and 3 of the Development Management Plan, a number of sites have been allocated in the vicinity of the Bexhill to Hastings Link Road (BHLR). These allocations will provide opportunities for significant growth, are in line with County Council priorities for the area, and are therefore supported. These development sites are contingent on the delivery of the BHLR and its complimentary measures.

The Development Management Plan is clear that the local transport impacts of development along The Ridge will require careful consideration and the County Council welcomes this approach. A further strengthening of the commentary in the vision for each of the above focus areas which The Ridge traverses, and in the commentary of individual site allocations within these focus areas, would help emphasise the issue over traffic impact on The Ridge.
