DM4 builds upon elements of Planning Strategy Policy T3 (Sustainable transport) and incorporates a range of sustainable transport objectives into the site all0ocation process which is supported. The policy seeks to reduce reliance on car ownership and to promote sustainable transport opportunities primarily through the sustainable location of site allocations, including the proximity to public transport networks. The inclusion of pedestrian and cycle accesses where appropriate within the site design briefs should increase the appeal of sustainable travel options. The approach accords with the objectives of the East Sussex Local Transport Plan 2011-2026.
