Development Management Plan Focused Consultation 6th July - 17th Aug 2012

Representation ID: 3859

Received: 17/08/2012

Representation Summary:

The Convent site is not mentioned, but the figures suggest it is required to provide 100-150 units. The Convent is not in the town centre, and to impose a high urban density on it would only further expand the existing overcrowded environment. The open skyline visible from various parts of the densely populated centre alleviates feelings of oppressive enclosure, and is vital to residents' wellbeing. IMD [2011] show that this area has the lowest scores overall in the Borough for living environment, both indoor and outdoor, and for health deprivation and disability. Further intensification will exacerbate these areas of deprivation.
