Representation Summary:

The built environment loses much of its residential appeal as the natural environment is systematically destroyed. The Green Network map adopted with the 2004 Plan and policies are still in force and passed by the Secretary of State. It is only Planners who have not respected that wildlife cannot exist without sustainable habitat. It is legislated that all animals must be able to liaise and socailise with others of its species. People are legally entitled to access greenspaces of around 2 hectares within 300m of their front doors. In a number of areas, the Planners have deliberately ignored this legislation.

Representation Summary:

More allotment land is required, there is a waiting list. Of general concern:
1. how far is the average distance from home to an allotment?
2. What is the acceptable distance?
3. There are whole families that spend time working on their alotment and enjoy a BBQ before going home.
4. The Council must sharpen up its act. Allotment sites have recently been lost to dense housing sites. Legislation must be in place to reverse the Councils attitude to land use, green open space for food production, exercise and an environment of fresh air in a quiet atmosphere.
