MORE stringent. I don't think we actually need any more new sites (let's not forget that a caravan site in Harrow Lane was actually LOST to a new, permanent housing development!), and there is a danger of too much encroachment onto green space if policies are too lax.

A flexible approach is required for Holiday Park proposals - particularly when upgrading and improving an existing park. A more stringent policy approach should not be taken, as this could stifle development and discourage further investment. Proposals to upgrade holiday parks, improve the product and encouraging visitors with higher spending power to the area should be supported. Upgrading and environmental improvments may involve re-use of land associated with the holiday park or some expansion of area. This may be necessary to obtain a better layout, improved landscaping and provide more luxurious accommodation such as "lodge" style units or camping "pods".
