If planning wishes to maintain shops in St. Leonards (and indeed Hastings) they need to realise that they have to encourage people towns, and this means providing free, easy parking.

Hopefully, with all the recent publicity regarding Ms. Portas, and the increasing number of empty shops in the town (and across the country), the Council/Planning Dept. will look again at what appears to have been an "anti-car policy" and realise that they need to re-think this aspect of town planning
