Representation Summary:

Sites of value in Conservation areas are not being given careful consideration as to the adverse impact developments will have on them.
Archery Road and The Convent in Magdalen Road proposals by virtue of the low quality and high denisty show there is no real concern about such sites.

Representation Summary:

Many old buildings are considered worthless in favour of newer densely proposed developments as they are not protected, or do not fall within an acceptable time frame as a building of historical worth. Beautiful buildings are wiped away as they are not 100 years old. It is a good job that the Elizabethans, Georgians or Victorian did not wipe away their buildings when they reached a certain age or we would have nothing of any historical worth left. We are now left with bomb sites where buildings of worth have been demolished, but the sites left undeveloped.

We would be interested to see a combination of Options 2 and 3 developed. We feel separate policies make it easier for people to understand the elements that are important in protecting listed buildings and conservation areas.
